by Beate Johns   Post Type: Card

I love adding sparkle to my cards. I always need to have a few rhinestones on my cards, but lately I have been used a lot of glimmer paper as well. I just love how it sparkles. My best friend got married last weekend and this is the card I made for her and her new husband.

Spellbinders™ Paper Arts Supplies:

Preferred Promotional Partners:
  • Flourishes - Wedding Bliss
  • Want2Scrap - Finesse Silver Rhinestone Swirls, Sleek Strip Silver Rhinestones
Cross Promotional Partners:
Others:
White and Gray cardstock, Silver Glimmer paper, button, silver cord, sewing maching, corner rounder

I started by cutting and embossing silver glimmer paper with the second largest Classic Scalloped Heart die, My Mind's Eye™ Be Happy patterned paper with the second largest Classic Heart die and white cardstock with an insert die from Fancy Framed Tags Two and a frame from Jewel Framed Sentiments.

Next I stamped and image from Flourishes  Wedding Bliss in shimmery ink on white cardstock and cut it out. The image was adhered to the Jewel Sentiment frame with SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVE BY 3L™ Foam Adhesive Squares.

The edges of the patterned paper heart were sanded before it was stitched to the glimmer paper scalloped heart. The frame and image was adhered to the frame.

A 3" x 5" piece of white cardstock was embossed with the  Enchanted M-Bossabilities folder. The bottom corners were rounded before the layer was stitched to a slightly bigger gray piece of cardstock. May Arts Ribbon was wrapped around the layers and threaded through the frame. The hearts were adhered to the dry embossed layers. The ribbon was tied into a bow and topped with a button, tied on with silver cord.

A sentiment from Wedding bliss was stamped in the same shimmery ink on the left hand side of the tag insert die cut. The right hand side was cut off and adhered to the bottom left hand side of the layers. Everything was then adhered to the card base, a 3 1/2" x 11" piece of white cardstock, folded in half with the bottom corners rounded.

Part of a rhinestone swirl on the heart and rhinestones on the upper right and lower left hand side finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to create with your dies today! Have a wonderful day and weekend.

Hugs and smiles
