Hello, it’s Candy Rosenberg with a little tidbit on what I was up to at the Summer CHA Chicago show. I was asked to join the Crafty Couture Designer Challenge for this show. There are twenty designers that design full size gowns made with whatever combination of craft medium you work in to create a mixed media masterpiece. For those of you that know me, you can guess that mine was made from paper, ribbon, burlap, canvas and wire!
The dress is in a Vintage Steampunk style and sponsored by Canvas Corp, 7Gypsies, Tattered Angels and May Arts and Spellbinders™ !
After over 70 hours, with 7 hours just in cutting and bending the wire skirt, 3 packages of ephemera tags, over 30 yards of ribbon and twine, found objects and over 130 punched paper leaves layered…here she is!

The back of the dress is tied up and corseted and a full corset that wrapped around the waist along with a set of wire wings made by Kendra Wiggins.

A close up of Spellbinders Paper Arts, Donna Salazar Sprightly Sprockets:

And I am proud to say that I won FAN FAVORITE and as I came off the stage, Stacey Caron was standing there after the announcement of Spellbinders™ winning the Innovations award that was received and all I could do was hug her and cry! Thank you Stacey for allowing me to shed tears on your shoulder!

A little look at the Crafty Couture setup before the show opened when it was the quiet before the storm:

A little bonus, my daughter Mariah Rosenberg made a Duct Tape vest for Ken Oliver of Spellbinders™ and included a die cut mustache from Becky Fleck's brand new Dear Old Dad set and Julianna Hudgins alphabet in duct tape. There is not much that we cannot die cut!

Thank you to everyone for your support and hope you are inspired to think outside the box and take mixed media full scale!
