Can I use Spellbinders™ Die Templates in other die-cutting systems?

Yes! For information about cutting and embossing with products from other companies, browse through the following FAQ's or download this Compatibility Reference Guide.

How do I cut with a Spellbinders Die Template in the CuttleBug™ by Provocraft®? Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. A plate
  2. C plate
  3. Spellbinders Die Templat, cutting ridges up
  4. Paper or cardstock
  5. B plate

Run through Cuttlebug™ machine. For added detail, emboss and/or turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice


How do I emboss a Spellbinders Die Template in the CuttleBug™ by Provo Craft®? Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. A plate
  2. Spellbinders Die Template, cutting ridges up, paper in die
  3. One Spellbinders Tan Embossing Mat
  4. 2 or 3 pieces of cardstock
    *Cautionary Note: Using more than 3 pieces of cardstock to shim Cuttlebug™ will result in B plate breakage. When using Spellbinders Edgeabilities® card making Die Templates, shim with only 2 pieces of cardstock.
  5. Two B plates 

Run through Cuttlebug™ machine. For added detail, turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I cut with a Spellbinders Die Template in the Big Shot™ by Ellison Design™ (Blue)? Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. Big Shot's™ thick white mat
  2. Spellbinders White Spacer Plate
  3. Spellbinders Die Template, cutting ridges up
  4. Paper or cardstock
  5. Two Big Shot™ acrylic mats

Roll through the Big Shot™ machine. For added detail, emboss and/or turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I emboss a Spellbinders Die template in the Big Shot® by Ellison Design™ (Blue)? You will need Spellbinders Tan Embossing Pad to emboss in the Big Shot™ Machines? Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. Remove Spellbinders White Spacer Plate, leaving the die template in place
  2. Spellbinders Tan Embossing Pad
  3. Three piece cardstock Shim
  4. Two Big Shot™ Acrylic mats

Roll through the Big Shot™ machine. For added detail, turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I cut using a Spellbinders Die Template in the Big Shot™ by Ellison-Sizzix® and Big Shot™ for Stampin'Up! by Sizzix™? Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. Large platform with all tabs closed
  2. Spellbinders die template, cutting ridges up
  3. Paper or cardstock
  4. Two Big Shot™ acrylic mats

Roll through the Big Shot™ machine. For added detail, emboss or turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I emboss using a Spellbinders Die Template in the Big Shot™ by Ellison-Sizzix® and Big Shot™ for Stampin'Up! by Sizzix™?

  1. Multi-purpose platform
  2. Spellbinders Die Template, paper still in die
  3. Two Spellbinders Tan Embossing Mats
  4. Cardstock shim (one piece of 12x6" cardstock, tri-folded)
  5. One Big Shot™ acrylic plate

Roll through the Big Shot™ machine. For added detail, turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I cut using a Spellbinders Die Template in the BIGKick™ by Sizzix? Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. Large Platform, all tabs closed
  2. Spellbinders die template, cutting ridges up
  3. Paper or cardstock
  4. Two BIGKick™ acrylic mats

Roll through the BIGKick™ machine. For added detail, emboss and/or turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I emboss using a Spellbinders Die Template in the BIGKick™ by Sizzix™? You will need two Spellbinders Tan Embossing Pads to emboss in the Big Shot™ machine. If you just finished cutting, remove  acrylic mats and create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. Multi-purpose platform
  2. Spellbinders Die Template, cutting ridges up, paper still in die
  3. Two Spellbinders Tan Embossing Pads
  4. One piece 12x6" cardstock, tri-folded
  5. One BIGKick acrylic plate

Roll through the BIGKick™ machine. For added detail, turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I cut and emboss using a Spellbinders Die Template in the Zip'eMate by AccuCut®?  Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. ZEM platform
  2. Spellbinders Die Template, cutting ridges up
  3. Paper or cardstock, cut in the same manner as Zip'eCuts

To emboss, do not remove the die template/paper but place ZEM's embossing foam over it. Roll through with the ZEM's embossing foam. For added detail, turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I cut using a Spellbinders Die Template in the Original Sizzix Personal Die Cutter? You will need to use the Sizzix® System Converty by Ellison® and Spellbinders White Spacer Plate to cut with Spellbinders Die Templates. Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. Put Sizzix System Converter in the Sizzix™ Personal Die Cutter
  2. On the cutting pad: paper or cardstock and Spellbinders Die Template, cutting ridges down
  3. Spellbinders White Spacer Plate (Item# W-004)
  4. 12x6" cardstock shim, tri-folded

Push through the Sizzix™ Personal Die Cutter. NOTE: It may take several presses to cut larger Spellbinders Die Templates. For added detail, emboss and/or turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I emboss using a Spellbinders Die Template in the Original Sizzix Personal Die Cutter? You will need to use the Sizzix™ System Converter by Ellison® and Spellbinders Embossing Pad to emboss with Spellbinders Die Templates. After cutting, remove paper shim and White Spacer Plate. Create a sandwich laying #1 on the bottom and stacking the rest of the elements in order.

  1. Die Template, paper still in die
  2. Turn over Spellbinders Die Template, placing it on Sizzix™ cutting pad
  3. Spellbinders Tan Embossing Pad
  4. Paper Shim

Push through the Sizzix™ Personal Die Cutter. For added detail, turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.


How do I cut using a Spellbinders Die Template in the Revolution™ by QuicKutz®? Create a sandwich laying #1 on the Revolution Platform and stacking the rest of the elements in order:

  1. Spellbinders Die Template, cutting ridges up
  2. Paper or cardstock
  3. Acrylic cutting mat

Roll it through the Revolution™. For added detail, emboss and/or turn die template over and stencil with colorant of choice.
